A powerhouse of 90’s-tinged alternative-pop mixed with indie-rock, Loviet has established herself as one of Toronto, Canada’s brightest up-and-coming artists to watch in the 2020s. Praised for her “signature, shimmery hooks with emotionally honest lyrics” (Notion) and “addictive, retro pop-rock...a polished, highly danceable project” (CBC) Loviet has made a name for herself supporting critically acclaimed artists such as Milky Chance, JP Cooper and Morcheeba as well as performing festivals Lollapalooza, Festival D’ete, and Ottawa Blues Fest summer 2023.
Setting a high bar with her debut EP Everyone Knows the Thrill When It’s Over and 2021’s album 777, inspired by The 1975, Sam Fender and Hole, she’s reached even greater heights on her cinematic EP The Nighttime Is All In The Timing. Produced by Cacie Dalager and Bradley Hale of American indie-rock band Now, Now, this five-track offering is sonically expansive and emotionally charged, described by Loviet as lots of guitars, energy, power, and mess.
From the unabating urgency of her boldly breathtaking anthem “Broken Lips” to the intimate, heated unpacking of trauma on “Wide Eyes” (billed as “a love letter with teeth”) to the unapologetic roar of “Star Treatment,” The Nighttime Is All In The Timing finds Loviet soundtracking moments of reckoning and raw reflection through catchy and cathartic upheavals that hit hard and leave a lasting mark.

FOR FANS OF
Loviet is set to release again in 2023 with a brand new 3-song EP titled Little Heaven. Produced by Loviet and Matt Tomasi, who has worked projects such as Ethel Cain, Nicole Dollanger and 9Million. The first single ‘What I Wouldn’t Give’ comes out July 7. The second single ‘Sports Cars’ is out August 18 and the third and final track ‘Easier’ is out September 29 on the EP’s official release date. Loviet has designed this as her sad girl summer sampler, featuring a more alternative pop/rock sound and even more of herself engrained throughout these songs.
This conceptual EP shares the story of a desolate, rundown industrial town called Little Heaven in which Loviet, a lost girl in her mid 20’s tries to navigate on her own. Themes include heartbreak, the trials and tribulations of being a woman, self love and self destruction and the second coming of age. This world with all of its gritty and broken down nature is designed to mimic Loviet’s emotional landscape as well as her surroundings.
